Job summary

QinetiQ Limited invites applications for a Site Safety Lead at Fort Halstead, Kent. You will partner with site leadership to provide expert HSE advice, drive safety culture, and ensure compliance with safety management systems and legislation.

You will lead investigations, deliver training, audits and continuous improvement across operations, engineering and services, embedding Care and Thrive values and supporting ISO 45001 implementation.

Qualifications

• Strong practical expertise in Health & Safety management systems, including implementation and continuous improvement of ISO 45001.
• Proven experience leading site safety initiatives, driving behavioural change, and improving safety performance.
• Extensive knowledge of operations, engineering and service delivery with hands-on HSE management experience.
• Skilled in accident and incident investigation, with root cause analysis and regulatory engagement.
• Excellent communication, coaching and influencing abilities across stakeholder levels.
• NEBOSH General Certificate (Level 3) or equivalent is required.

Responsibilities

• Lead by example to promote a positive safety culture and embed values across the site.
• Partner with site leadership to provide expert HSE advice and ensure compliance.
• Drive the implementation of HSE legislation, policies, and objectives through stakeholder engagement.
• Deliver safety improvements through training, coaching, and effective communication.
• Lead and support investigations, ensuring effective resolution and learning.
• Monitor and improve HSE performance via audits, inspections and ISO compliance.
