Job summary

ARM is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer to independently run and improve cloud services, owning defined services and SLOs. You will handle incidents confidently and help develop less experienced colleagues.

The role involves operating significant parts of the data management system, building infrastructure as code, and improving CI/CD pipelines. It also includes capacity planning, on-call duties, and peer code reviews.

Qualifications

• Several years of experience in SRE/DevOps or infrastructure engineering.
• Proven reliability improvements and incident response experience.
• Experience mentoring or onboarding junior engineers.
• Strong written and verbal communication.

Role overview

The Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) is an established engineer who independently runs and improves cloud services, taking ownership of defined services or components and the SLOs that go with them. They deliver engineering work with limited supervision, handle incidents confidently, and help develop less experienced colleagues.

Experience and behaviours

Essential

• Several years of experience in SRE, DevOps or infrastructure engineering running production services.
• Track record of improving reliability, and of responding to and learning from incidents.
• Experience mentoring or onboarding less experienced engineers.
• Clear written and verbal communication.

Desirable

• GCP Professional certification, such as Professional Cloud DevOps Engineer.
• Kubernetes certification, such as CKA or CKAD.
• Experience with data platforms and data management systems.
