Trainline is seeking a mid-level Site Reliability Engineer to strengthen reliability, observability, and incident response across our AWS-based platform. You’ll partner with product engineering teams to deliver safe, scalable services and own on-call responsibilities with senior support.

You will design and maintain monitoring, alerts, and tooling using New Relic, ELK, Grafana, Docker and Terraform, while applying SRE principles and agile ways of working.

Qualifications

• Experience with SRE concepts such as SLI, SLO and error budgets.
• Hands-on observability tooling experience (New Relic, ELK, Grafana, Influx).
• Experience with AWS cloud and Linux troubleshooting.
• Scripting in Python or similar language.
• Understanding load balancing, upstream health checks and traffic flow.
• Experience with build/deploy/config management tools (GitHub Actions, Terraform).

Responsabilités

• Develop understanding of system architecture, dependencies and failure modes.
• Participate in production incident response and post-incident reviews.
• Design, build and maintain observability to support rapid diagnosis.
• Take part in on-call rotation and incident communications.
• Collaborate with product engineering to ensure operational readiness and safe deployments.
• Advise on reliability and resilience practices; write reliable code/scripts.
