A leading UK insurance company is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer (Observability) to enhance their monitoring capabilities. In this hybrid role, you will deploy tools like Dynatrace and work in a supportive team to ensure high service quality. The ideal candidate has a strong background in observability, IT event management, and relevant systems, with competitive salary and benefits.
We have an exciting opportunity for a Site Reliability Engineer (Observability) to join our Monitoring Team within IT Infrastructure Products on a 12-month fixed term contract. You’ll play a key role in the continual development of effective solutions to fulfil application, infrastructure, and network monitoring, as well as the support and general maintenance of our various tools including Dynatrace, Grafana, PagerDuty, and InfluxDB.
In this role, you’ll be part of a supportive, technically focused team delivering work in an Agile DevOps approach to business requirements. You’ll work with the business and 3 rd party suppliers to ensure that our portfolio of applications and infrastructure services are operating effectively and deliver value through proactive monitoring.
As aSite Reliability Engineer, you’ll be responsible for deploying new monitoring tooling across our IT estate to support high-profile change activities, understanding the key business processes, and using your knowledge of Metrics, Logs and Traces to establish accurate performance baselines and alerting. You will offer best practice guidance to our IT and business teams as an authority on observability and will work with our architecture and design teams to incorporate an effective monitoring strategy into new solutions.
As aSite Reliability Engineer, you’ll use your knowledge and experience of observability and IT Event Management to deliver excellent results across a varied IT estate. You’ll have knowledge of network fundamentals and possess the ITIL Foundation, having the ability to work well independently but also as part of a team to problem solve and innovate. With a focus on quality, you’re passionate about technology and analysis and have excellent time management skills. You’ll have supported a range of applications and infrastructure previously and have experience monitoring aspects of service, infrastructure, and network performance.
