Job summary

William Hill PLC, Leeds, is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer to join our SRE team. You’ll partner with engineering and operations to improve platform reliability, scalability and customer experience across betting and gaming products.

You’ll lead major incidents, perform postmortems and drive improvements. You’ll use Splunk, New Relic and CloudWatch to monitor health, design performance tests, and champion automation and fault-tolerance.

Qualifications

  • Experience with large-scale technology platforms and cloud concepts.
  • Ability to troubleshoot effectively across distributed systems and containerised environments.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with engineering, operational and commercial teams to enhance platform reliability and customer experience.
  • Lead and support major incidents through the incident command framework, coordinating responses and restoration.
  • Conduct postmortem investigations, identifying root causes and driving improvements to prevent recurrence.
  • Utilise observability tools (Splunk, New Relic, CloudWatch) to monitor health and extract performance insights.
  • Design and analyse performance testing to validate readiness and identify bottlenecks.
  • Champion operational readiness, resilience and fault-tolerance across services.
  • Drive automation initiatives to improve efficiency and reliability, and promote SRE best practices.
