Job summary

BMSL Group Ltd. in Somerset is seeking a Site Quality Engineer to support QA/QC across the Hinkley Point C project in Somerset. The role blends site, home-based and stakeholder-facing activities on a major UK infrastructure program.

You will ensure QA/QC requirements are met, manage audits and NCRs, and help drive continuous improvement within a highly regulated nuclear environment, with hybrid working options.

Qualifications

• Experience in Quality Engineering, QA/QC or Inspection roles within a regulated industry.
• Ability to analyse quality data and produce KPI reporting.
• Experience managing NCRs and corrective actions.

Responsibilities

• Support the implementation and continual improvement of the Project Quality Management System (QMS).
• Maintain and update Contract Quality Assurance Plans (CQAPs).
• Plan, support and conduct internal, supplier and external audits.
• Monitor audit findings and corrective actions to close-out.
• Review quality records and ensure traceability of completed works.
• Produce, analyse and report Quality KPIs and performance metrics.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Site Quality Engineer to join a major engineering organisation delivering work on Hinkley Point C, one of the UK's largest and most significant infrastructure projects.

Working within a highly regulated environment, you will play a key role in ensuring quality requirements are achieved throughout construction, installation and project delivery activities. The Role

As Site Quality Engineer, you will support the Quality Manager and project teams in ensuring Project Quality Assurance requirements are effectively implemented and maintained.

You will be responsible for supporting audits, inspections, quality documentation, non‑conformance management, quality reporting and continuous improvement activities to ensure products and services are delivered Right First Time.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the implementation and continual improvement of the Project Quality Management System (QMS)
• Maintain and update Contract Quality Assurance Plans (CQAPs)
• Plan, support and conduct internal, supplier and external audits
• Monitor audit findings and corrective actions through to successful close‑out
• Support management of Non‑Conformance Reports (NCRs) and corrective action plans
• Review and monitor Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs)
• Review quality records and ensure full traceability of completed works
• Monitor End of Manufacturing Reports (EoMRs), construction status reports and handover documentation
• Support quality release of equipment and project handover activities
• Produce, analyse and report Quality KPIs and performance metrics
• Interface with client quality representatives and project stakeholders
• Promote a strong quality and nuclear safety culture across project activities
• Support continuous improvement initiatives throughout the project lifecycle

Requirements

• ISO 9001:2015 Lead Auditor qualification
• Experience within Quality Engineering, Quality Assurance, QA/QC or Inspection roles
• Strong understanding of quality systems, inspection processes and auditing principles
• Experience managing NCRs, corrective actions and quality improvement activities
• Ability to analyse quality data and produce KPI reporting
• Experience working within engineering, manufacturing, construction or other regulated industries
• Degree qualified in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, Business or a related discipline, or equivalent industry experience

Desirable Experience

• Experience on major engineering, infrastructure or EPC projects
• Nuclear industry experience
• Knowledge of ISO 19443 and other regulated industry standards
• Experience with 8D, Root Cause Analysis and continuous improvement methodologiesUnderstanding of document management systems and lifetime quality records
• Experience working with multidisciplinary project teams
• Knowledge of nuclear site licence conditions
