Job summary

Wates Group is seeking a Site Quantity Surveyor for a major construction project in South Derbyshire. You will play a pivotal role in the day-to-day commercial management, ensuring strong cost control and effective subcontractor management throughout the lifecycle.

You will work closely with project teams to provide commercial insight, manage change, and deliver successful financial outcomes while developing experience within a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Experience as Quantity Surveyor on construction projects.
• Strong cost control and subcontractor management experience.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day commercial management of designated work packages from procurement through to final account.
• Oversee subcontractor relationships, valuations and forecasts.
• Monitor costs and support management of change and commercial risk.
• Provide robust reporting and commercial insight to support project performance.
