Mitie Group plc. is seeking a professional and adaptable Site Protection Officer to provide security cover across Marks & Spencer Distribution Centres in Bristol, including Thornbury and Avonmouth.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid front-line SIA Licence.

Responsibilities

• Lead security cover across multiple M&S Distribution Centres in Bristol (Thornbury and Avonmouth).
• Monitor access control, CCTV and vehicle movements per site procedures.
• Conduct regular internal and external patrols to maintain site safety and security.
• Respond promptly to incidents, alarms and emergencies following site protocols.
• Hold regular meetings to engage and manage the security team and communicate the strategy.
• Ensure compliance with all Health & Safety and company security policies.

Job description

We are looking for a professional and adaptable Site Protection Officer (SPO) to provide exceptional security cover across Marks & Spencer Distribution Centres in Bristol.

As an relief SPO, you will play a vital role in maintaining a safe and secure working environment for staff, visitors, and contractors, protecting company assets, and ensuring a consistent, high-quality service across all DCs. You will be required to work flexibly across days, nights, and weekends, including short-notice cover when required.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

• Lead, maintain and provide professional security cover across multiple M&S Distribution Centres within Bristol - Thornbury and Avonmouth.
• Deliver outstanding customer service in line with Mitie and M&S key value.
• Maintain professional standards of appearance, conduct, and incident reporting.
• Monitor access control systems, CCTV, and vehicle movements in accordance with site procedures.
• Conduct regular internal and external patrols to ensure site safety and security.
• Support the prevention and investigation of theft, stock loss, and unauthorised access.
• Respond promptly and effectively to incidents, alarms, and emergencies following site protocols.
• Hold regular meetings to engage, motivate, and manage your team, developing and communicating the strategy. Communicate and follow Management lead.
• Be accountable for performance of the site.
• To undertake additional duties in line with capabilities as required.
• Work flexibly to meet operational requirements, including short-notice assignments.
• Ensure compliance with all Health & Safety and company security policies.

Adaptable, reliable, and able to work independently or as part of a team. Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills. Calm under pressure with a positive, "can-do" attitude.
