Job summary

Mitie is seeking a professional Site Protection Officer (SPO) to provide security across Marks & Spencer Distribution Centres in Daventry and Rugby. As a relief SPO you will work across days, nights and weekends, delivering high-quality security and customer service.

You will monitor CCTV, patrol, assist with incident reporting, and ensure health & safety policies are followed. A front-line SIA licence and a UK driving licence are required; comprehensive training and a generous benefits

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid front-line SIA licence.
• Must hold a full UK driving licence and have access to a reliable vehicle.
• Literate and numerate with strong attention to detail and IT skills.
• Adaptable, reliable and able to work independently or in a team.
• Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain security cover across multiple M&S Distribution Centres in Daventry.
• Deliver outstanding customer service in line with Mitie and M&S values.
• Monitor access control, CCTV and vehicle movements per site procedures.
• Conduct regular patrols to ensure site safety and security.
• Assist with theft prevention, incident reporting and investigations.
• Respond to incidents, alarms and emergencies following site protocols.
• Attend staffed meetings and communicate with management.
• Ensure compliance with health & safety and security policies.
• Work flexibly to meet operational requirements, including short-notice duties.
• Undertake other duties as required.

Job Overview

We are looking for a professional and adaptable Site Protection Officer (SPO) to provide exceptional security cover across Marks & Spencer Distribution Centres in Daventry/Rugby.

As an relief SPO, you will play a vital role in maintaining a safe and secure working environment for staff, visitors, and contractors, protecting company assets, and ensuring a consistent, high-quality service across all DCs. You will be required to work flexibly across days, nights, and weekends, including short-notice cover when required.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

• Be able to maintain and provide professional security cover across multiple M&S Distribution Centres within Daventry.


• Deliver outstanding customer service in line with Mitie and M&S key value.


• Maintain professional standards of appearance, conduct, and incident reporting.


• Monitor access control systems, CCTV, and vehicle movements in accordance with site procedures.


• Conduct regular internal and external patrols to ensure site safety and security.


• Support the prevention and investigation of theft, stock loss, and unauthorised access.


• Respond promptly and effectively to incidents, alarms, and emergencies following site protocols.


• Attend staff meetings to engage with your team, developing and communicating the strategy. Communicate and follow Management lead.


• Be accountable for performance of the site.


• To undertake additional duties in line with capabilities as required.


• Work flexibly to meet operational requirements, including short-notice assignments.


• Ensure compliance with all Health & Safety and company security policies.
