Job summary

Mitie and Marks & Spencer invite applications for a Relief Site Protection Security Officer to cover Marks & Spencer Distribution Centres in Milton Keynes. You will provide professional security across the sites, working flexibly across days, nights and weekends to ensure continuous protection.

Responsibilities

• Provide security cover across multiple M&S Distribution Centres in Milton Keynes.

• Monitor access control, CCTV and vehicle movements per site procedures.
• Conduct regular patrols and incident reporting.
• Respond promptly to alarms, incidents and emergencies per site protocols.
• Attend staff meetings and contribute to site strategy and performance.

Job Title: Relief Site Protection Security Officer - Marks & Spencer Distribution Centres

Job Overview

Fantastic opportunity to join the Mitie and Marks & Spencer family!

We are looking for a professional and adaptable Site Protection Officer (SPO) to provide exceptional security cover across Marks & Spencer Distribution Centres in Milton Keynes.

As an relief SPO, you will play a vital role in maintaining a safe and secure working environment for staff, visitors, and contractors, protecting company assets, and ensuring a consistent, high-quality service across all DCs. You will be required to work flexibly across days, nights, and weekends, including short-notice cover when required.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

• Be able to maintain and provide professional security cover across multiple M&S Distribution Centres within Milton Keynes.
• Deliver outstanding customer service in line with Mitie and M&S key value.
• Maintain professional standards of appearance, conduct, and incident reporting.
• Monitor access control systems, CCTV, and vehicle movements in accordance with site procedures.
• Conduct regular internal and external patrols to ensure site safety and security.
• Support the prevention and investigation of theft, stock loss, and unauthorised access.
• Respond promptly and effectively to incidents, alarms, and emergencies following site protocols.
• Attend staff meetings to engage with your team, developing and communicating the strategy. Communicate and follow Management lead.
• Be accountable for performance of the site.
• To undertake additional duties in line with capabilities as required.
• Work flexibly to meet operational requirements, including short-notice assignments.
• Ensure compliance with all Health & Safety and company security policies.

Person Specification

• Literate and numerate skills are required, with strong attention to detail and IT skills.

• Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills.

• Must hold a valid front-line SIA Licence.
• Must hold a full UK driving licence and have access to a reliable vehicle.
