Job summary

The Kingfisher School is seeking a Site Officer to provide comprehensive operational support for a safe, well-functioning site. You will oversee security, lighting, heating, cleaning, and general maintenance across the academy, performing plant and equipment tasks, porterage and handyperson duties.

Key responsibilities include statutory testing, alarm systems liaison, minor repairs, and timely reporting of issues.

Qualifications

  • GCSE Maths/English at grade C or above or equivalent
  • Maintenance/trades qualification or willingness to work towards
  • IOSH or equivalent health and safety qualification
  • Experience of caretaking and cleaning duties

Responsibilities

  • Complete statutory and routine testing to manufacturers’ standards with records
  • Maintain security across academy premises and liaise with security services
  • Carry out minor plumbing, joinery, decorating, plastering and electrical tasks
  • Identify and report repairs or replacements requiring action

Join our academy team as a Site Officer, providing comprehensive operational support across The Kingfisher. You’ll oversee site security, lighting and heating systems, cleaning, general maintenance, plant and equipment, porterage and handyperson duties, helping to maintain a safe, welcoming and well-functioning environment.

Key responsibilities:

  • Complete statutory and routine testing as and when required to manufacturers’ standards ensuring record keeping is up to date using appropriate computer software, including boilers, sprinklers, fire alarms, emergency lighting, etc.
  • Maintain a high level of security across academy premises including dealing with alarm systems and liaising with security services.
  • Install, maintain or repair jobs of a minor nature such as plumbing (eg leaky taps), joinery (e.g boarding up broken windows), painting/decorating, plastering, electrical work (e.g replace faulty lights).
  • Identify and report any repairs, maintenance or replacements that require action.

Pay range:

  • NJC SCP 12-17
    (£29,542.00 - £32,046.00)
  • Full Time
  • Permanent

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Maths & English GCSE or equivalent or willing to work towards
  • Relevant maintenance/trade qualification or willingness to work towards
  • IOSH or recognised equivalent Health and Safety qualification
  • Experience of a range of caretaking and cleaning duties
