Job summary

Barratt Redrow PLC in East Scotland is seeking a diligent Forklift Driver to support busy construction sites on large domestic housing projects. You will manage deliveries, check quality, store materials accurately and help keep the build programme on track while coordinating with the Site Manager and Materials Controller.

Working on site, you’ll ensure daily forklift inspections, maintain a clean, roadworthy vehicle and assist with labouring duties when required, all while upholding health and

Qualifications

• Previous experience on large domestic volume house building sites.
• Holder of an appropriate FLT drivers licence and a full UK driving licence.
• Relevant Health and Safety Awareness.
• CSCS or partner scheme card.

Responsibilities

• Regularly communicate with Site Manager to keep up to date with changes to the construction programme.
• Advise Site Manager of any shortages of blocks and bricks and level of silo mix so that the build programme is not delayed due to material shortage.
• Ensure all deliveries are checked for quality and correct quantity when delivered and record any defective or short deliveries with the Materials Controller.
• Store and label materials correctly in the supplied store areas.
• Ensure waste materials are loaded into the correct site skips for waste control.
• Advise the Site Manager/Assistant Site Manager of defective/damaged materials when collecting/loading.
• Ensure forklift is inspected daily and weekly inspections are recorded in the Plant Register.
• Keep forklift clean and roadworthy, and carry out routine maintenance.
• Inspect plant attachments weekly and record in the Plant Register.
• Ensure safe working practices are adhered to at all times and report issues to the site manager.
• Ensure materials loaded on platforms allow loading bay gates to be closed.
• Carry out labouring duties as required.
