Job summary

Irwin and Colton is seeking an experienced Health and Safety Site Manager to lead a major factory upgrade in Stockport, delivering a hydrogen switch project safely and on schedule. The role requires coordinating multiple contractors, enforcing CDM 2015 regulations, and maintaining rigorous safety records on site.

The position is a fixed-term, 9-month contract with a pro-rated salary of £50,000, reflecting responsibility for safety, quality, and timely delivery in a manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Proven experience managing construction sites in industrial/manufacturing settings.
• Strong knowledge of CDM 2015 regulations and risk management.
• Certifications: SMSTS and CSCS Manager.

Responsibilities

• Managing day-to-day site operations, coordinating subcontractors, and overseeing site activities in line with CDM 2015 regulations.
• Implementing and monitoring construction phase plans and safe systems of work to ensure health and safety standards are upheld.
• Leading site meetings, toolbox talks, and safety briefings to promote a strong safety culture.
• Reviewing technical drawings, specifications, and progress reports to keep projects on track.
• Maintaining accurate site documentation, including permits, inspections, and safety records.

Join a leading manufacturer in the construction sector as a Site Manager on a fixed-term 9-month contract. You will oversee the safe delivery of a factory upgrade, including a green hydrogen fuel switch project, ensuring project timelines and quality standards are met.

Your responsibilities will include:
