Job summary

Irwin and Colton is seeking a Health and Safety Site Manager to deliver a 9-month factory upgrade safely and on schedule at Stockport. You will lead day-to-day site operations, manage subcontractors, and ensure CDM 2015 compliance across the project.

You will apply SMSTS and CSCS Manager credentials to promote a strong safety culture, review drawings, maintain records, and drive safety initiatives while coordinating with multiple contractors and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• SMSTS certification required.
• CSCS manager card required.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and progress reports.

Responsibilities

• Managing day-to-day site operations and coordinating subcontractors in line with CDM 2015 regulations.
• Implementing and monitoring construction phase plans and safe systems of work to uphold health and safety standards.
• Leading site meetings, toolbox talks, and safety briefings to promote a strong safety culture.
• Reviewing drawings, specifications, and progress reports to keep the project on track.
• Maintaining accurate site documentation including permits, inspections and safety records.

Health and Safety Site Manager - 9-Month FTC

Salary: £50,000 (pro-rated for 9 months)

Join a leading manufacturer in the construction sector as a Site Manager on a fixed-term 9-month contract. You will oversee the safe delivery of a factory upgrade, including a green hydrogen fuel switch project, ensuring project timelines and quality standards are met.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Managing day-to-day site operations, coordinating subcontractors, and overseeing site activities in line with CDM 2015 regulations
• Implementing and monitoring construction phase plans and safe systems of work to ensure health and safety standards are upheld
• Leading site meetings, toolbox talks, and safety briefings to promote a strong safety culture
• Reviewing technical drawings, specifications, and progress reports to keep projects on track
• Maintaining accurate site documentation, including permits, inspections, and safety records

The ideal candidate will have:

• Proven experience managing construction sites within an industrial or manufacturing environment
• Strong knowledge of CDM Regulations 2015, health and safety legislation, and risk management
• SMSTS certification, CSCS manager card, and demonstrable leadership skills
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and lead safety initiatives professionally
