Job summary

Wates Group is seeking a Site Manager to join the team on the HMP Gartree project, supporting delivery of a sizeable construction programme within a live custodial environment.

The role involves coordinating day-to-day site activities, leading subcontractors, and ensuring works are completed safely, to quality standards and on programme. You will work collaboratively with the project team and client stakeholders to drive progress.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Site Manager within the construction industry.
• Experience delivering medium to large construction projects.
• Strong understanding of construction operations, site management and health & safety requirements.
• Experience managing subcontractors and coordinating multiple work activities.

Responsibilities

• Managing day-to-day site operations and coordinating project activities
• Leading and supervising subcontractors and site teams to ensure works are delivered safely and efficiently
• Driving health, safety and environmental performance across the project
• Monitoring quality standards and ensuring works are delivered in accordance with project requirements
• Coordinating logistics, resources and site activities to maintain programme objectives
• Identifying and resolving operational issues to minimise disruption and maintain progress
• Working closely with commercial, design and planning teams to support project delivery
• Building positive working relationships with client representatives and key stakeholders
• Supporting project reporting and progress monitoring activities
