Job summary

JA Burke in Birmingham is seeking 1–2 Site Managers to lead civil engineering and groundworks across multiple projects in the West Midlands. You will manage daily site operations, coordinate subcontractors and ensure work aligns with programme, safety rules and quality standards.

The role covers bulk earthworks, drainage, foundations, and external works, with a focus on delivering complex groundworks packages on time and within budget.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as Site Manager in civil engineering or groundworks.
• Strong understanding of programme delivery and subcontractor coordination.
• Confident communication with clients, engineers and project teams.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day delivery of groundworks and civils packages.
• Coordinate site teams, subcontractors and plant to meet programme milestones.
• Ensure works comply with health and safety regulations and company procedures.
• Monitor quality of site workmanship and documentation (RAMS, HSEQ).
• Liaise with clients, consultants and senior management as needed.
