Job summary

Walker Construction is seeking an experienced Site Manager to join our civil engineering team in Witham, Essex. This permanent, full‑time role is site‑based with a salary of £60,000–£65,000 per year depending on experience.

The initial project is a railway station car park build expected to last around 12 months, with opportunities to continue beyond. You will manage all site activities and subcontractors, ensure health and safety, coordinate labour, plant and materials, and liaise with clients

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Site Manager within civil engineering projects.
• Strong leadership and organisational skills
• Excellent problem‑solving abilities and a proactive approach
• Ability to work independently and make informed decisions
• First Aid at Work desirable
• Ideally located within commuting distance of Witham, Essex

Walker Construction is seeking an experienced Site Manager to join our growing team for an exciting civil engineering project based in Witham, Essex.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated and hands‑on Site Manager looking to build a long‑term career with an established and respected contractor. Whilst the project is within a railway station car park, previous rail experience is not essential. What is essential is a strong civil engineering background, excellent problem‑solving skills, and the ability to hit the ground running on a fast‑paced project.

The initial project is expected to last approximately 12 months, with ongoing opportunities available within Walker Construction beyond this scheme.
