Site Manager/Caretaker

The Role:
We are seeking an experienced and proactive individual to take responsibility for the day-to-day management, safety, security, and maintenance of the school site.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee the security, cleanliness, and general maintenance of school buildings and grounds

• Carry out basic repairs, decorating, and maintenance tasks

• Manage contractors and monitor site works when required

• Ensure compliance with fire safety and building regulations

• Open and close the school premises as required, including during events or emergencies

• Monitor heating, lighting, and utilities systems

Essential Skills & Experience:

• Previous experience in a site manager/caretaker or similar role

• Strong understanding of building maintenance, health & safety, and facilities management

• Practical skills in DIY, repairs, and general maintenance

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Strong communication and organisational skills

Desirable:

• Experience working in a school or educational setting

• Health and Safety qualifications (e.g. COSHH, IOSH)
