This is an exciting expatriate opportunity to work on an international construction project in Africa. Please note, applicants will be required to obtain UK standard baseline security clearance to secure the role.
Salary: £75,000 - £80,000 (gross) per annum
Task Descriptions:
- Responsible for the safety and welfare of the general public, staff, and supply chain within their control under the strict observance of the G3 Systems Safety policy.
- Ensuring subcontractors plan, operate, and deliver the contract in accordance with their scope of works and the programme plan in conjunction with the Project Manager.
- Ensuring that subcontractors deliver in accordance with the agreed design and quality standards.
- Manage the site diary in accordance with company best practice.
- Manage weekly reporting to the Project Manager in accordance with the contract.
- Ensure that site activities comply with UK health and safety standards and that standards are agreed at the outset of the project.
- Implement and manage the site induction process.
- Develop and deliver toolbox talks.
- Manage site access restrictions and equipment usage procedures.
- Oversee waste management and permits to work on site.
- Drive continuous safety improvements.
- Ensure the successful safe completion of the project, including quality, time, procurement, and client interface, reporting to the Project Manager.
- Encourage and coach team members to develop skills, providing regular feedback and challenging learning experiences.
- Motivate and engage employees to deliver project goals.
- Develop detailed plans aligned with the overall project plan for procurement and scheduling of materials, resources, and supply chain.
- Attend site meetings, progress reviews, safety meetings, and stakeholder meetings as appropriate.
- Highlight and report contract variations.
- Serve as the point of contact for site security and welfare.
Qualifications Required:
- Valid First Aid at Work Certificate.
- NVQ Level 3-4 BTEC diploma in Building Construction or similar qualification.
- Valid Scaffold Inspection certificate.
- Valid LOLER certificate.
- SMSTS certification.
Skills / Experience Required:
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Project.
- Experience managing all aspects of the build process.
- Good working knowledge of NEC Contracts.
- Updated knowledge of health and safety obligations and building legislation.
- Understanding of the considerate contractor's requirements to achieve high scores.
