Job summary

The Clancy Group is seeking an experienced Site Manager for Newport to lead site teams on complex utility projects. Salary £50,000–£58,000 plus car/allowance, with opportunities to travel between sites across the region.

Key requirements include SMSTS accreditation, a full driving licence, and proven experience with trenching, RC works, duct installation, and cable pulling. The role emphasizes CDM compliance and site leadership.

Responsibilities

• Manage direct employees and subcontractors on site.
• Implement CDM checklist requirements and RAMS where needed.
• Carry out site inductions and health & safety inspections.
• Review and amend RAMS; issue permits (e.g., dig permits).
• Hire/hire plant and materials; maintain site diary and briefings.
• Conduct regular safety inspections and drive improvements.

The Role: We are looking for experienced Senior Site Supervisors and Site Managers to join our team.

Here are some of the activities that you will get involved in… Management of direct employees and subcontractors Implementation of CDM checklist requirements Carrying out site inductions and health & safety inspections Reviewing and amending Risk and Method Statements (RAMS) Issuing work permits e.g. permit to dig Hiring/off-hiring plant and materials Keeping a site diary and holding daily briefings Safety Inspections We’d love to hear from you if you can demonstrate the following… Experience in any of the following industries: Power, Water, Gas, Highways etc.

Experience as a Site Manager dealing with trenching / deep excavations; RC works, duct installation, cable pulling etc.

Hold a current SMSTS accreditation.

As you will be required to travel between sites a full and valid driving license is essential.
