The Vacancy

Here at Wates, we have an opportunity for a Site Manager to join our team within the Planned Works division. You will be working in the Guildford, Dorking, Leatherhead (Surrey) area on one of our new contracts. The primary focus of this role will be to ensure a project is built safely, economically, on time, and to quality standards.

Key Accountabilities

1. Input into and program the works/short-term scheduling of projects.
2. Manage Operatives, Sub-Contractors, and Suppliers to maintain quality and safety standards.
3. Attend pre- and post-inspections, advise on actions, and assist with design solutions to ensure successful delivery and handover.
4. Prepare weekly site progress reports and submit them electronically to the Project Manager.
5. Ensure completed jobs are documented with full job packs sent to the Project Manager for smooth invoicing and cash flow management.

Minimum Requirements

• Full accreditation in asbestos awareness and scaffold inspections.
• NVQ Level 6, Black Card.
• Experience delivering SHDF Projects; from a Tier 1 contractor.
• SMSTS certification.
• Full UK Driving License.
• Valid First Aid Certificate.

To succeed, you should be an effective communicator, positive, engaging, and capable of providing strong site leadership. You should also have proficient IT skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and the ability to prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
