Job summary

Caval is seeking a Site Manager (Fit Out & Refurbishment) to lead the Leeds-based site team on commercial, industrial and education projects up to £1m in value. You will coordinate day-to-day operations, manage subcontractors and direct staff, and drive safety, quality, and timely delivery on site.

This temporary role requires a CSCS Card, SMSTS and First Aid, with a proven track record in fit-out and refurbishment projects.

Qualifications

• CSCS Card required.
• SMSTS certification required.
• First Aid certification required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operations of projects, ensuring delivery on time, within budget and to quality standards.
• Manage site teams, including subcontractors and direct staff, fostering collaboration and productivity.
• Enforce site safety protocols, conduct regular inspections, and ensure regulatory and policy compliance.
• Develop, monitor, and maintain project schedules to address delays and keep projects on track.
• Act as primary client contact, provide progress updates and ensure client satisfaction with delivery.
• Coordinate labour, materials, and equipment to maximise efficiency and minimise downtime.
• Ensure work meets company and industry standards through regular inspections and snagging.
• Address on-site challenges promptly, making decisions to minimise disruption and maintain momentum.
• Monitor budgets and identify cost-saving opportunities, recording and approving variations.
• Maintain accurate site records including daily reports and safety audits.
• Liaise with architects, engineers and consultants to resolve technical queries.
• Review subcontractor performance and address any underperformance.
• Manage project completion and smooth handover, addressing post-handover issues.

Salary: £40,000 to £50,000 + Van + Fuel Card

Role Overview:

Site Manager leading the site team in delivering new build and refurbishment packages on Commercial, Industrial and Education projects up to £1m in value across West Yorkshire.
