Job summary

Sherford Vale School and Nursery is seeking a motivated and well-qualified Site Manager to maintain and improve buildings and grounds. The role focuses on day-to-day maintenance, security, lettings, and compliance with safety and environmental standards.

The successful candidate will have strong communication skills, attention to detail, and be prepared for emergency call-outs and DBS checks as part of safeguarding responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Day to day maintenance.
• Security of premises and contents; the post holder must be available for emergency call out.
• Opening / closing, setting up for and after lettings, including any second clean. Ensuring that hirers comply with the Conditions of Hire.
• Delivery of compliance contracts and in‑house provision and maintaining of records.
• Compliance with the Environmental Protection Act by continuous clearance of litter, both inside and outside buildings.
• General porterage.
• Emergency cleaning including the unblocking of drains, toilets, etc.
• Continuous inspection for damage and vandalism, making good immediately any defects and reporting to the Head Teacher.
• General handyman duties, to include decorating.
• Issue and control of consumables.
• Promoting the image of our schools.
• A working knowledge of COSHH is a requirement.
