Job summary

PSR Solutions is seeking a Freelance No.2 Site Manager to support a £9m industrial build in Huntingdon with an end-September start. The 8-month contract offers a competitive day rate and a chance to work on a high-profile industrial development.

You will assist the Project Manager, coordinate subcontractors, monitor health and safety, maintain records and liaise with technical and design teams to ensure the project stays on programme.

Qualifications

• Experience as Site Manager or No.2 on industrial or commercial new build projects.
• Strong understanding of steel frame construction and industrial developments.
• SMSTS, CSCS and First Aid essential.
• Procore experience advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Support the Project Manager with the day-to-day running of the site.
• Coordinate subcontractors to ensure works are delivered safely, on programme and to a high standard.
• Monitor Health & Safety, quality and site progress.
• Assist with programme management, sequencing and logistics.

We are recruiting on behalf of a leading main contractor for an experienced No.2 Site Manager to support the delivery of a £9m new build industrial development in Huntington.

Candidates based in the Huntingdon or Cambridge area would be ideally located for this project.

The Project

Working alongside the Project Manager, you will assist in delivering a new build industrial unit, including:

• Groundworks and foundations
• Structural steel frame
• External envelope
• Industrial fit-out
• Office fit-out, including M&E installations

Key Responsibilities

• Support the Project Manager with the day-to-day running of the site
• Coordinate subcontractors to ensure works are delivered safely, on programme and to a high standard
• Monitor Health & Safety, quality and site progress
• Assist with programme management, sequencing and logistics
• Maintain accurate site records and reporting
• Liaise with commercial, technical and design teams throughout the build

Requirements

• Previous experience as a Site Manager or No.2 Site Manager on industrial or commercial new build projects
• Strong understanding of steel frame construction and industrial developments
• SMSTS, CSCS and First Aid (essential)
• Temporary Works Coordinator and Fire Marshal qualifications preferred (or willingness to obtain)
• Experience using Procore would be advantageous
• Must have access to a laptop and mobile phone
