Job summary

WR Environmental is seeking a Site Manager for its Hinckley site to oversee transfer station and depot operations. The role focuses on ensuring regulatory compliance, staff leadership, and efficient site performance from 7am to 5pm, Monday to Friday.

You will manage plant operations, vehicle fleets, and contractor oversight while driving cost reductions and KPI implementation to maximise site profitability.

Qualifications

• Experience in waste management sector.
• Experience with transfer station and/or depot management.
• IOSH or NEBOSH desirable

Responsibilities

• Ensure full compliance with environmental permits, health and safety regulations, and all relevant authority standards, including oversight of H&S, facility management, and emergency response.
• Lead and manage all aspects of site operations, including treatment plant, transfer station, vehicle fleet, staffing, plant maintenance, and contractor control.
• Drive operational efficiency and cost reduction through process improvements, full P&L accountability, and implementation of KPIs across all site functions.
• Oversee staff recruitment, shift planning, training, development, and performance management to align with business needs and promote a positive team culture.
• Develop and grow the business by identifying new opportunities, improving communication across sites, and ensuring accurate and efficient systems for invoicing and reporting.

My client is looking for an experienced Site Manager to join their team based in Hinckley, to oversee and manage onsite operations for the Transfer Station and Depot.

Requirements

• Previous experience working for a Waste Management Company (Total Waste Management, or Specialist Hazardous/Radioactive)
• Previous experience in Transfer Station and/or Depot Management
• Strong demonstratable leadership experience
• Transport Managers CPC is desirable
• Previous experience with H&S and Compliance - IOSH or NEBOSH is desirable
