Job summary

Sphere Solutions is seeking an experienced Site Manager to join a leading UK main contractor on projects around Gloucester. You will drive day-to-day site operations, manage trades and subcontractors, and ensure delivery to programme, budget, and quality standards.

You will hold strong construction experience across commercial or industrial schemes, with SMSTS, CSCS and First Aid qualifications, and be willing to travel locally to project sites in the region.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Site Manager working for a main contractor.
• Confident managing subcontractors, trades and site teams.
• Excellent health & safety and quality awareness.
• Strong all-round construction experience across commercial/industrial projects.
• Based within commutable distance of Gloucester and willing to travel locally.

Responsibilities

• Managing the day-to-day running of construction sites from commencement through to completion.
• Coordinating subcontractors, trades and site teams to ensure projects are delivered safely and efficiently.
• Monitoring progress against programme and ensuring key milestones are achieved.
• Maintaining high standards of health, safety and quality across the project.
• Reviewing drawings, specifications and construction information.
• Managing site logistics, sequencing and resource requirements.
• Identifying and resolving site issues proactively.
• Liaising with the Project Manager, subcontractors, consultants and wider project team.
• Carrying out regular inspections and quality checks.
• Ensuring works are delivered to programme, specification and required standards.
• Supporting the successful handover and completion of projects.

An established UK main contractor is looking to appoint an experienced Site Manager to join their team, working on projects across the Gloucester area. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing projects typically valued between £10m and £20m, with a range of work including industrial warehouses, commercial buildings and other large-scale developments.

This is a great opportunity for a Site Manager with a strong all-round construction background who is looking for a long-term position with an established contractor and a strong pipeline of work across the region.

What we're looking for

• Proven experience as a Site Manager working for a main contractor

• Experience delivering commercial, industrial or similar projects
• Confident managing subcontractors, trades and site teams
• Excellent health & safety and quality awareness
• Valid SMSTS, CSCS, First Aid qualifications; relevant construction qualification such as NVQ, HNC or equivalent preferred
• Based within a commutable distance of Gloucester and willing to travel locally for projects
