Job summary

Gibson Recruitment Limited in Glasgow is seeking an experienced Site Manager (Fit-Out) for a permanent role with a respected Main Contractor.

You will deliver mid-scale fit-out projects, coordinate internal and subcontracted trades, and drive safety, quality and programme. The role requires hands-on leadership on-site and close collaboration with Project Managers to meet client expectations.

Qualifications

• Extensive construction site management experience with a Main Contractor (fit-out / refurb works).
• SMSTS, First Aid at Work & UK Drivers Licence.
• Trade or Degree background.
• Understanding of mechanical and electrical works.
• Experience of working in live environments (desirable).
• Applicants MUST live within commuting distance of Glasgow.

• Proven track record of delivering Fit-Out (& ideally) MEP works to an extremely high standard.
• Professional demeanour with client-facing communication and focus on customer care.
• Chair site meetings and drive outcomes with accurate records of discussions and deadlines.
• Understand client requirements, technical specs, drawings, and project requirements.
• Assist with project programming, scheduling of works and labour allocation.
• Deliver progress reports and programme updates to project stakeholders.
• Produce onsite dilapidations and validations; manage RFIs and TQs.

Gibson Recruitment is delighted to be partnering with a highly respected Main Contractor, to recruit an experienced SITE MANAGER based in Glasgow.

The successful applicant will deliver small to medium sized construction works - generally valued between £100,000 - £2m.

The role will be to provide site-based coordination and management of internal and sub-contracted multi-disciplined labour for secured construction projects.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced construction Site Manager to join an established business who are now embarking on an exciting period of growth.

Responsibilities

• Proven track record of delivering Fit-Out (& ideally) MEP works to an extremely high standard.
• Possessing a professional demeanour, client facing and with a keen focus on customer care in all instances.
• Confident and effective communication, ability to support Project Managers in chairing site meetings, driving outcomes, ensuring the production of accurate records of discussions, actions, and deadlines.
• Ability to fully understand the client requirement, technical specifications, drawings, and project requirement holistically.
• Assist with the generation of project programming, scheduling of works and labour allocation.
• Support Project Managers with the delivery of regular progress reports including programme drop lines for issue to project stakeholders.
• Familiarity with producing onsite dilapidations and completion of validations.
• Understanding the importance of the development and submission of RFI's, TQ's and driving close out of items raised.
• Liaise with colleagues to gain a full understanding of the project requirements.
• Ability to make sound business decisions under pressure.
• Excellent time management, ability to delegate, prioritise key tasks and workload when working to strict deadlines.
• Highly adept at the co-ordination of work packages, understanding the interaction of trades and the ability to foresee potential issues and H&S risks.
• Endeavour to spot and highlight value engineering opportunities.
• Ability to adhere to client and stakeholder policies and procedures.
• Deliver Toolbox talks, Pre-start briefings and CDM inductions where relevant.
• Liaise with colleagues to highlight key risks or concerns.
• Issue permits to work to sub-contractors.
• Attend client progress meetings and support Project Managers with accurate information.
• Ensure that records are accurate and comply with organisational and legal requirements.
• Resolve any unexpected technical difficulties or problems that may arise on site.
• Liaise with Project Managers and plan procurement activities to ensure adequate resources to complete the tasks in a safe and timely manner.
• Review and report on progress in conjunction with construction programmes.
• Provide technical support and guidance.
• Timely handover of works and supporting with O&M manual generation, providing information to support in the generation of the CDM H&S File.
