Job summary

St Helena School, part of The Sigma Trust, is seeking a proactive Site Manager to lead the site team and maintain a safe, well-equipped environment for pupils and staff.

The role requires hands-on maintenance, security duties, and strong health and safety practice, with opportunities for CPD and a supportive benefits package.

Qualifications

  • Experience of caretaking and/or buildings maintenance and security.
  • Experience with Health & Safety procedures and codes of practice.
  • Experience in leading a team.
  • Ability to manage time effectively and take a proactive approach.
  • Ability to carry out first line repairs and routine maintenance.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day care, maintenance, housekeeping and security of the school site.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety legislation, risk assessments and codes of practice.
  • Carry out first-line repairs, general porterage and cleaning duties.
  • Act as primary keyholder for out-of-hours emergencies and alarm call-outs.
  • Lead and deploy the site team with minimal supervision.

  • Premises & Facilities: Oversee the day-to-day care, maintenance, housekeeping, and security of the school site.
  • Health & Safety: Ensure full compliance with health and safety legislation, risk assessments, and relevant codes of practice.
  • Hands-on Maintenance: Carry out first-line repairs, general porterage, cleaning duties, and lettings supervision.
  • Site Security: Act as a primary keyholder for out-of-hours emergencies and alarm call-outs.
  • Team Leadership: Manage and deploy the site team effectively while demonstrating the ability to work independently without close supervision.
