Job description

A practical and energetic leader to manage on site builds.

Do you want to work behind the scenes at some of the UK’s most exciting events, festivals and film shoots? We are recruiting a skilled and proactive site manager to lead our location install crews at client locations across the UK, helping us support big names like the BBC, Netflix, ITV, Fearne Cotton’s Happy Place Festival, Live Nation and Cambridge University.

Be one of a fresh group of driven and talented individuals joining us as we build a powerhouse team this year.

Who are we recruiting?

As one of our Marquee Foremen, you will lead your tight-knit crew in the smooth and efficient installation and dismantling of event and film location installations (including marquee structures) at client locations across the UK. Reporting to the Operations Team, you will be the primary point of contact on location, ensuring projects are completed to the highest standards, within agreed timelines, and adhering to all health and safety regulations.

Your responsibilities will be to;

  • Lead your crews in the prep, pack, install and derig of event and film location equipment, including medium to large marquees, furnishings, flooring, power and lighting equipment and more.
  • Efficiently and safely transport equipment to event and film locations across the country
  • Ensure paperwork and quality control is completed, and you are leaving your installations in the best and safest condition.
  • Lead your crews in custom build projects (basic construction) in the workshop
  • Create a great working environment for your crew, and get the best performance out of them. You will contribute to performance improvement discussions and exercises, as well as team bonding experiences.

What type of person are we looking for?

We are looking for a strong and effective leader, with great communication skills and the ability to grasp a varied range of technical and structural knowledge. Plans can rapidly change in the events industry, and you will need to be able to troubleshoot and stay cool to get your job done.

Our site manager is our on-location representative of the company, so a positive and professional attitude is a must-have.

You will be;

  • A very practical individual who is confident in many aspects of construction and labour
  • A positive-thinking individual, with a proactive, problem-solving outlook.
  • Able to confidently and positively lead a team, and get professional results from a diverse range of people.
  • A professional individual, who is able to talk clearly and considerately with clients, and who cares about their crew’s output and attitude.
  • A safety-conscious person, who recognises the importance of and strives to uphold best safety protocols, as well as completing basic compliance paperwork.
  • Physically fit and enjoy working outdoors.
