What is the role?

Persimmon Homes is recruiting an experienced Site Manager to join their Construction Team. The role involves managing the construction site according to company guidelines and goals, ensuring all aspects of the project meet budgets, timelines, and quality standards.

Primary Responsibilities
  1. Manage the construction site to ensure development is completed on time, to specification, and in compliance with safety regulations, company standards, and quality standards.
  2. Ensure all quality and safety inspections are within control standards and conducted according to Group guidelines.
  3. Coordinate with external third parties such as warranty providers, local authorities, and utility companies to achieve the build programme.
  4. Maintain accurate records for the development, including staff inductions, health and safety reports, timesheets, incident reports, and quality checklists.
  5. Ensure materials are called off, checked, and stored in accordance with Group guidelines.
  6. Supervise the workforce, including subcontractors, to ensure work is completed on time, to quality standards, and within budget.
  7. Collaborate with other departments such as Sales and Customer Care to meet targets and resolve issues promptly.
  8. Ensure compliance with the Group Health, Safety, and Environment Policy to minimize incidents and accidents.
  9. This role involves travel across various sites in the region and occasional trips to other Group offices.
Experience Required
  • Experience in the house building industry is essential.
  • Understanding of NHBC, LABC, or Premier standards.
  • Knowledge of Health, Safety, and Environmental legislation.
  • Current CSCS Card (Construction Skills Certification Scheme).
  • SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) is preferred.
  • Full UK Driving Licence is required.
  • Qualified to minimum NVQ Level 6 in Construction Management is preferred.
