Job summary

Thorn Baker Group is seeking an experienced Site Manager to oversee modular construction projects across education, healthcare, commercial, infrastructure, defence and residential sectors. You will manage all on-site activities from mobilisation to handover, ensuring safety, programme adherence and quality.

The role requires strong leadership, MMC knowledge and excellent communication with clients and subcontractors.

Qualifications

• Experience as Site Manager on modular, MMC or traditional builds.
• Strong knowledge of construction processes and site safety.
• Proven ability to lead teams, coordinate subcontractors and manage multiple workstreams.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day site operations and project delivery.
• Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers and specialist trades.
• Ensure works are delivered to programme, within budget, to high quality standards.
• Maintain health, safety and environmental compliance at all times.
• Conduct site inductions, toolbox talks and safety briefings.
• Liaise with clients, consultants and stakeholders and report progress.

Job description

Thorn Baker is looking to hire an experienced Site Manager to oversee the safe and successful delivery of modular construction projects across a range of sectors including education, healthcare, commercial, infrastructure, defence and residential. These projects are delivered using modern methods of construction (MMC), providing high-quality, sustainable building solutions nationwide.

The Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all on-site activities from mobilisation through to project completion, ensuring works are delivered safely, on programme, within budget and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day site operations and project delivery.
• Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers and specialist trades.
• Ensure works are completed in line with programme and project objectives.
• Maintain the highest standards of health, safety and environmental compliance.
• Conduct site inductions, toolbox talks and safety briefings.
• Liaise with clients, consultants and key stakeholders.
• Oversee quality control and ensure all works meet project specifications.
• Manage modular installation, fit-out and commissioning activities.
• Monitor project progress and prepare regular site reports.
• Support project handover and defect management processes.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Site Manager within the construction industry.
• Experience delivering modular, off-site, MMC or traditional build projects.
• Excellent knowledge of construction processes and site health & safety.
• Strong leadership and subcontractor management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple workstreams and meet project deadlines.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
• Commercial awareness and problem-solving capability.
