Job description

Minimum Requirements: SMSTS qualified with proven site management experience, strong planning skills

As a leader in high-end construction, heritage conservation and specialist crafts in London and the South of England, we take pride in working on Britain's finest private residences, luxury hotels and most cherished historic architecture. We believe our people are our greatest asset, as it's their dedication to excellence that has been the foundation for our outstanding reputation.

You’ll lead high-end construction sites with confidence, guiding teams and subcontractors to deliver projects safely, efficiently, and to the highest standard, while working closely with the Project Manager to ensure programme, budget, and contractual requirements are met. Taking ownership of every stage, you’ll anticipate challenges, drive solutions, and ensure workmanship and quality are consistently exceptional.

Just some of the responsibilities we’ll trust you with:

  • You’ll coordinate daily and weekly site activities, managing resources and labour to keep projects moving efficiently and in line with the programme.

  • You’ll develop and maintain site schedules, monitoring progress, addressing delays, and ensuring variations are managed in collaboration with the Project Manager.

  • You’ll take ownership of all on-site operations, leading direct staff and subcontractors with confidence, autonomy, and accountability.

  • You’ll maintain clear, proactive communication with clients, project teams, and subcontractors, contributing insightfully to planning meetings.

  • You’ll oversee workmanship through regular inspections, ensuring every aspect of the project meets our high standards of quality.

  • You’ll champion safety on site, embedding SHE compliance, managing risks and documentation, and fostering a culture where safety and excellence are always a priority.

Where you’ll be based:

You’ll be part of our Central Region where high-end country projects from £500k to £100m are delivered by teams aligned to the scale and complexity of each build. Our portfolio for the region spans listed buildings, major refurbishments, contemporary new builds, sporting estates, boutique hotels, and substantial private residences.

You’ll be based on-site at one of our prestigious projects, joining a warm and professional team known for their expertise, collaboration, and commitment to excellence.

Some of the rewards of working with us:

  • Grow your skills and your career with access to full training and development programmes designed to help you reach your full potential.

  • Be part of an inclusive workplace where everyone is respected, valued, and encouraged to share ideas and make a real impact.

  • Enjoy a comprehensive rewards package including a competitive salary, company pension, sick pay, life cover, enhanced maternity/paternity pay, and long service recognition.

  • Earn more time off with a holiday allowance that increases with your length of service - plus all bank holidays.

  • Save on everyday essentials with exclusive discounts at leading retailers and supermarkets.

  • Get 24/7 support through our Employee Assistance Programme, offering expert advice, counselling, and practical help whenever you need it.

  • Enjoy a restful holiday break-we close during the Christmas period, giving you the chance to relax over the festive season

  • We prioritise your wellbeing with our healthcare programmes, annual flu vaccines, and for those who will benefit, a personalised menopause plan.

The areas of knowledge and expertise that matter most for this role:

  • You’ll bring strong knowledge of site management practices and project planning, ensuring construction activities are delivered efficiently and effectively.

  • You’ll have a thorough understanding of SHE regulations and statutory compliance, embedding safety and best practice across every aspect of the site.

  • You’ll demonstrate practical experience with programming software and construction sequencing to plan, track, and coordinate work seamlessly.

  • You’ll apply commercial awareness and basic contractual knowledge when managing labour, plant, and costs, balancing delivery with control.

  • You’ll understand preconstruction processes and how early decisions influence programme, logistics, and overall project success.

  • You’ll hold relevant qualifications such as a Trade Apprenticeship, SMSTS, and First Aid certification, applying your knowledge confidently on site.
