Job summary

Anderselite is recruiting a Civils Site Manager to oversee United Utilities projects in the North West. The role is site-based, coordinating on-site teams, plant, labour and materials while reviewing progress and ensuring standards are met.

You will manage health and safety on site, run weekly progress meetings, monitor budgets, lead subcontractors, and maintain strong client relationships through regular site visits and reporting.

Qualifications

• Experience in utilities (water preferred).
• Competence in deep excavations, civils, drainage and water schemes.
• Safe, compliant construction site experience with street works.
• Health & Safety qualification an advantage.
• Awareness of costs and programme implications.
• Strong team leadership and communication ability.
• Proficient IT skills, including project planning tools.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Operational supervisory responsibility for the Mains Rehabilitation Non-Core Programme.
• Site-based role with regular visits to local sites to review progress and performance.
• Organise all resources (plant, labour, materials and subcontractors) cost‑effectively.
• Manage compliance with Health and Safety procedures; conduct weekly checks, audits, briefings.
• Produce weekly site reports for management and client meetings.
• Act as Health & Safety Representative; conduct inspections and investigate incidents.

Civils Site Manager - United Utilities

Our Role

We are recruiting a Site Manager to cover our United Utilities work in the North West

Key Responsibilities

• We are looking for someone to have operational supervisory responsibility for the Mains Rehabilitation Non-Core Programme and the daily activities that take place on site.
• We are looking for someone to be site based and regularly visit teams at local site level - reviewing progress and performance and ensuring all standards are adhered to at all times.
• We are looking for someone to organise all resources for our schemes, including plant, labour, materials and sub-contractors, in the most cost-effective way.
• We are looking for someone to manage compliance to our Health and Safety procedures on site e.g. weekly checks, inspections, team briefings, audits and work with the teams as required to develop them and support them in reaching their full potential.
• We are looking for someone to do weekly reporting of the sites to our management team and the client on weekly meetings and calls to update the team on progress, planning and issues.
• We are looking for someone to be a Health & Safety Representative; undertaking health & safety inspections in and around the workplace, raising health and safety related matters with management and investigating reportable accidents or incidents if and when they occur

Experience and Qualifications

• Experience of working in the Utilities sector, experience in Water would be advantageous
• Competence, knowledge and experience in deep excavations, civils, drainage, structures and water based schemes.
• Competence, knowledge and experience in Street Works and Confined Spaces
• Health & Safety qualification an advantage
• Awareness of costs and programme awareness
• Good team management and communication skills
• Proficient IT skills, including Microsoft Project is preferable
• Full UK Driving Licence
