Job summary

Galliford Try is seeking a Senior Site Manager to lead construction activities on Design & Build contracts. Based in or around Newcastle, you will take responsibility from award to handover, managing staff, safety and quality while ensuring profitability across multiple sites.

You should have construction industry experience, a track record delivering projects up to £30m, and a proactive, collaborative approach.

Qualifications

• Experience of working within the Construction industry, specifically on Design and Build, education projects.
• Positive contribution to behavioural safety initiatives
• A proven track record of success of working in a team delivering projects up to £30m in value
• Have experience of working for a main contractor
• Present a clean and tidy site and understand Considerate Contractor’s requirements

Responsibilities

• Take full responsibility for production functions on contracts from award through to maintenance certificate and maximise quality and profitability.
• Plan, coordinate, maintain and develop staff and operatives to meet workloads.
• Make initial client contacts after contract award and participate in pre-start meetings.
• Coordinate site setup and implement company systems and procedures.
• Implement strict financial controls on subcontractors, suppliers and operatives.
• Organise and coordinate maintenance works as directed by Operations Manager.
• Liaise with Head Office to improve communication.
• Produce data for contract reporting for Management Board Papers.
• Undertake the role of Site Safety Supervisor.
• Assess security risks to company property and implement appropriate security levels.
• Establish and maintain links with clients and develop post-contract marketing touchpoints.
