Job summary

Smartsearch Recruitment is seeking a Site Installer to join a market-leading provider of portable cabins, modular buildings and related products. Based at Grays, Essex, you will install and de-install modular units on customer sites across the South, ensuring work is completed safely and to the required quality standards.

You will work as part of the installation team, assist with lifting operations under the Project Manager, and support maintenance tasks in the Service Centre when not scheduled

Qualifications

• CSCS Blue Skilled Worker Card supported by an NVQ Level 2.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Willingness to travel to customer sites across the South.

Responsibilities

• Install and de-install modular buildings and portable accommodation.
• Follow project plans, RAMS, safe systems of work and operating procedures.
• Assist with site lifting operations in accordance with approved lift plans.
• Use hand and power tools safely and effectively.
• Inspect units before collection, report any damage.
• Complete final checks and hand installations over to customers.
• Undertake general maintenance and repair work when required.
• Maintain van stock, tools and equipment.
• Use a PDA to receive work plans and complete job records.
• Represent the business professionally at customer sites.

Site Installer Modular Buildings Based: Grays, Essex Excellent Salary half + Excellent Benefits, Training and Career Development. Permanent contract

This role could potentially suit candidates from a range of backgrounds, including Modular Building Installation, Portable Accommodation, Site Installation, Temporary Structures, Marquee Installation, Commercial Fit-Out, Construction, Property Maintenance or other practical site-based roles.

We have an opportunity for a Site Installer to join the market-leading provider of portable cabins, secure storage solutions, modular buildings and associated products. Working across customer sites in the South, you will install and de-install modular units and associated equipment, while ensuring work is completed safely and to the required quality standards.

The role:

Working as part of the installation team, you will undertake the installation and removal of modular buildings and accommodation units at customer locations. You will also assist with lifting operations under the direction of the Project Manager. When installation work is not scheduled, you may support maintenance activities within the Service Centre.

• Install and de-install modular buildings, portable accommodation and associated equipment
• Work in accordance with project plans, RAMS, safe systems of work and operating procedures
• Assist with site lifting operations in accordance with approved lift plans
• Use hand and power tools safely and effectively
• Inspect units before collection, recording and reporting any damage
• Complete final checks and hand completed installations over to customers
• Undertake general maintenance and repair work when required
• Maintain van stock, tools and equipment
• Use a PDA to receive work plans and complete job records
• Represent the business professionally while working at customer sites

Required skills and experience:

• Previous experience within a similar or relevant practical role would be highly desirable, such as Site Installer, Installation Operative, Modular Installer, Cabin Installer, Temporary Structure Installer, Marquee Installer, Construction Operative, Commercial Fit-Out Operative or Multi-Skilled Maintenance Operative
• General installation, construction or maintenance capability
• Experience using a range of hand and power tools
• CSCS Blue Skilled Worker Card supported by an NVQ Level 2
• Relevant certification such as ECS, IPAF and/or PASMA
• Basic IT skills and confidence using a PDA
• Full UK driving licence
• A strong attitude towards health and safety
• Willingness to travel to customer sites across the South
• Professional, reliable and able to work effectively as part of a team
