Job summary

Ground Control Geotechnical Solutions in London/South is seeking a hardworking Groundworker to support MER teams with mobilisation, excavation and reinstatement. You will prepare sites, handle digging tasks, and ensure safe access using hand tools and basic equipment.

The role offers full on-site training, opportunities to gain site/safety qualifications, and a clear path toward MER Operative or Site Supervisor roles. Ground Control provides benefits and career development.

Qualifications

• Experience in general labouring, groundwork or construction.
• CSCS card or equivalent.
• Valid UK driving licence.
• Physically fit and able to work outdoors in varying weather.
• Good health and safety awareness.

Responsibilities

• Support MER Operatives with mobilisation, excavation and reinstatement.
• Prepare sites and maintain safe access.
• Assist with manual digging and handling tools/materials.
• Assist backfilling, compaction and reinstatement of excavated areas.
• Use basic tools and equipment such as compactors, shovels, wheelbarrows.
• Load, unload and move equipment, tools and materials.
• Keep tools and equipment clean and safe.
• Report damaged equipment to Site Supervisor.
• Take part in toolbox talks and risk assessments.
