Job summary

RGB Recruitment is seeking an experienced General Foreman for Bristol-based civil engineering and highways projects. The role focuses on hands-on site delivery, coordinating labour, subcontractors and resources to meet programmes and quality standards.

The ideal candidate has a strong highways/civil background, proven supervisory experience, and a valid driving licence. SMSTS/SSSTS and CSCS are required, with a competitive salary and car allowance on offer.

Qualifications

• Experience as General Foreman or Senior Foreman in civil engineering/highways.
• Strong knowledge of highways construction and civil operations.
• Proven ability to manage site teams, subcontractors and direct labour.
• Excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to coordinate multiple activities and work to demanding programmes.
• SMSTS or SSSTS qualification and CSCS card are required; First Aid desirable.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day site operations on highways and civil projects.
• Supervise direct labour, subcontractors and trades.
• Coordinate plant, labour, materials and resources.
• Collaborate with Site Agents and Project Managers to maintain programmes.
• Ensure health, safety, environmental and quality standards.
• Deliver site inductions, briefings and toolbox talks.
• Monitor progress and resolve operational issues.
• Maintain accurate site records and daily reports.
• Ensure works meet required specifications and quality standards.
