Job summary

RGB Recruitment Ltd in Bristol is seeking an experienced General Foreman to join its delivery team on highways and civil engineering projects. You will oversee day-to-day site operations, manage site teams and subcontractors, and ensure work is performed to programme and on safety standards.

The ideal candidate will have proven foreman or senior foreman experience in civil engineering, strong leadership and communication skills, and certs such as SMSTS/SSSTS and CSCS.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a General Foreman or Senior Foreman in civil engineering or highways.
• Strong knowledge of site operations, construction methods and safe systems of work.
• Experience supervising subcontractors and multiple site teams.
• Excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily site activities, ensuring work is delivered safely and efficiently.
• Supervise site teams, subcontractors and direct labour.
• Coordinate plant, labour and materials.
• Work closely with Site Agents and Project Managers to maintain programme delivery.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental and quality standards.
• Conduct site briefings and toolbox talks.
• Monitor progress and resolve day‑to‑day site issues.
• Maintain accurate site records and reporting.
