Job summary

Gloucestershire’s largest comprehensive school is seeking a Site Team Operative to join its team. This role is 15 hours per week, year-round, with Sunday and Monday shifts and a 30-minute unpaid break.

You will assist in maintaining buildings, gardens and grounds to a high standard throughout the year. You will support in maintenance, helpdesk ticket resolution, emergency response as a key holder, porterage and repairs under the guidance of the Commercial and Facilities Manager.

Qualifications

• Experience carrying out general maintenance tasks.
• Knowledge of Health and Safety legislation regarding general maintenance areas and safe systems of work.
• Knowledge of Safeguarding.
• Have high standards of work.

Responsibilities

• Support the Commercial and Facilities Manager in leading all associated activities in order to best support the school in achieving its strategic objectives.
• Support the running of let facilities whilst on shift (only in the absence of the Sports Centre Receptionist/Duty Manager), providing assistance and support to school facility users, promoting a customer:focused environment, generating excellent public relations and customer care.
• Support the school's maintenance programme, ensuring helpdesk tickets are resolved within the set SLAs.
• Support the school's gardening and landscaping work, focusing on keeping the grounds maintained to a high standard throughout the year.
• As a key holder to respond to emergency call-outs in the event of fire damage, burglary, floods, snow or ice etc.
• Porterage / messenger duties, movement of furniture and equipment around the school.
• Carry out repairs as directed by the Commercial and Facilities Manager. Maintaining school premises, completing helpdesk tickets on the schools maintenance system, including internal fixtures, fittings, furniture, paint and decorating.
