Job summary

The Mercian Trust is seeking a Site Lead to provide strategic oversight of premises management across its academy facilities in the Walsall area. You will lead a site team, maintain compliance with health and safety regulations, and support refurbishments and building projects under the guidance of the Operations Manager.

The role requires strong leadership, risk management, and the ability to coordinate maintenance programmes while coordinating quotations and contractor performance to ensure

Qualifications

• Good standard of education, including literacy and numeracy.
• Relevant qualification or training in facilities management, building maintenance or a related trade.
• Health and safety training, such as IOSH Working Safely or equivalent.
• First aid, fire safety, asbestos awareness, legionella awareness and manual handling training, or willingness to complete these.

Responsibilities

• Take a lead role in ensuring high-quality provision of premises management.
• Manage all aspects of the Academy’s properties including upkeep, care, maintenance, security, health and safety, and facilities management in line with statutory and regulatory requirements.
• Assist Operations Manager to undertake the management of refurbishments, other building advancements, and support developing, procuring, and implementing building projects.
• Proactively manage risk, ensuring up-to-date risk assessments are in place and key information, and training is disseminated to staff to ensure they are aware of their responsibilities in these areas.
