Site Facilities Apprentice (Property Maintenance)
Location: Rugby Head Office
Häfele is an internationally trusted name supplying furniture fittings, ironmongery and hardware to the trade. We are recognised for our extensive range and quality of product as well as our expertise in the industry and excellent customer service.
Are you practical, hands-on and keen to build a career in facilities, property maintenance or construction?
We're looking for a Site Facilities Apprentice (Property Maintenance) to join our team at Häfele UK. This is a 15-month apprenticeship, with the opportunity for the role to become permanent on successful completion. The apprenticeship will be site based at our Head Office in Rugby Monday to Friday with practical quarterly 2-day block release workshops at GLP Building Block Training Centres, Worcester. Therefore candidates must be able to commute to both the Head Office and Training Centre locations as required.
As our Site Facilities Apprentice, you'll support the Site Facilities team in maintaining a safe, secure, compliant and efficient working environment for colleagues, contractors and visitors. You'll gain hands-on experience across a wide range of maintenance activities, including basic repairs, painting and decorating, carpentry, plumbing, grounds maintenance, building upkeep and facilities systems.
You'll combine workplace learning with college attendance and apprenticeship training, giving you the opportunity to develop practical skills, build confidence and apply what you learn in a real working environment.
Throughout your apprenticeship, you'll be supported by your college tutors, your line manager and our Learning and Development team. Together, they'll help you understand the course requirements, build your confidence, review your progress and support you in applying your learning in the workplace.
An apprenticeship is a great opportunity, but it is also a step up from school or full-time education. You'll need to manage your time well, keep on top of coursework, meet course deadlines and take ownership of your learning. At the same time, you'll be working on site, so it's important that you're able to balance your college work with your day-to-day responsibilities.
As standard for an apprenticeship, 20% off-the-job training will be provided to support your learning and development. The time is designed to help you complete your apprenticeship successfully while continuing to gain valuable hands-on experience in the workplace.
This apprenticeship is a great starting point for someone looking to build a long-term career in facilities management, property maintenance or building services. Over the 15-month programme, you'll develop practical multi-trade skills, understand how a busy site operates and gain experience that could support future progression into wider facilities management positions.
If you're keen to learn, enjoy practical work and want to develop skills that can support a future career, we'd love to hear from you.
