Job summary

Linear Recruitment is seeking an experienced Site Engineer to support Thames Water framework projects, focusing on civil engineering and water infrastructure works. The role requires strong setting-out skills, coordination with site teams, and ensuring safety and quality on site.

You will work with site management and subcontractors to maintain survey control, set out works to design specs and deliver activities to programme.

Qualifications

• Previous Site Engineer experience with setting-out on civil projects.
• Experience with robotic total stations or EDM surveying.
• Degree/HNC in Civil Engineering.
• CSCS and SSSTS/SMSTS certification.
• Knowledge of health and safety standards.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Carry out setting-out duties, establish survey control and maintain accurate levels per drawings and specs.
• Support delivery of sewer and utility infrastructure, including trenching and pipeline installation.
• Operate robotic total stations, EDM instruments and other surveying equipment.
• Coordinate daily activities with site management, engineers and subcontractors.
• Prepare and maintain inspection and test plans, site diaries and records.
• Identify and resolve technical issues and improve construction methods.
• Promote health, safety, environmental compliance and quality.
