Job summary

Balfour Beatty plc in Grays, England, seeks a Project Engineer to support delivery of the Lower Thames Crossing power works. You will work with Project Managers and engineers to translate designs into practical delivery and coordinate activities across site teams.

You'll contribute to planning, reporting and progress monitoring, oversee subcontractor activities, review technical documentation and RAMS, and help ensure safe, compliant, on-time project execution on a high-profile national

Qualifications

• Experience delivering infrastructure, utilities, power, transmission or major engineering projects.
• Understanding of engineering drawings, specifications and technical documentation.
• Experience coordinating subcontractors and managing interfaces across multiple stakeholders.
• Knowledge of project planning, programme management and project controls.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make informed decisions in a fast-paced environment.
• A proactive approach to safety and quality management.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Supporting the successful delivery of power infrastructure works across the project lifecycle.
• Translating engineering designs and technical information into practical delivery solutions.
• Coordinating engineering activities across site teams, subcontractors and suppliers.
• Assisting with project planning, reporting, programme management and progress monitoring.
• Managing and overseeing subcontractor activities to ensure works are delivered safely, efficiently and in line with project requirements.
• Reviewing technical documentation, drawings, specifications and work packages.
• Planning plant, equipment and resource requirements to support project delivery.
• Producing and reviewing RAMS, permits and other safety documentation.
• Supporting procurement activities and ensuring materials and resources are available when required.
• Identifying project risks, issues and opportunities and escalating where appropriate.
• Maintaining accurate project records, reports and site documentation.
• Championing a culture of Zero Harm and ensuring compliance with health, safety and environmental requirements.
