Job summary

Highfield Professional Solutions Ltd. is recruiting for a Section Engineer to join the Lower Thames Crossing project in Essex. Immediate start available on a 3.5‑month initial contract with a guaranteed extension for the right contractor.

Working 10-hour days, Monday to Friday, the role focuses on setting out, lookahead planning, permits, and coordinating with site teams. You will oversee gas diversions, drainage and enabling works, using Total Station for setting out and mentoring junior Site

Qualifications

Total Station setting out experience.
Ability to manage 3-week lookahead programmes.
Experience with drainage and enabling works.
SMSTS is required.
Strong communication and organisational skills.
Ability to work 10-hour days, Monday to Friday.

Responsibilities

Overseeing setting out activities using Total Station.
Managing and reviewing 3-week lookahead programmes.
Managing permits and ensuring works are appropriately authorised.
Completing material and quantity take-offs.
Mentoring and supporting Site Engineers.
Working closely with Site Agents, Project Managers and the wider engineering team.
Supporting the delivery of gas diversion, drainage and enabling works.
Ensuring engineering activities are delivered safely, accurately and in accordance with project requirements.
Monitoring progress and resolving engineering issues on site.
