Job summary

Randstad CPE is seeking a skilled Site Engineer to support major infrastructure projects on site in Thurrock/Grays. You will lead setting out activities, manage survey equipment, read drawings, and maintain quality and safety on site.

Contract from ASAP to 31/03/2027 with a £450 Umbrella rate Inside IR35. The role requires strong communication, teamwork, and the ability to work unsociable hours, delivering records and daily diaries on site.

Qualifications

Current driving license and CSCS Card.
Flexibility to work unsociable hours/nights.
Strong work ethic with ability to take ownership and work on own initiative.
Proven setting out techniques using level, EDM and GPS.
Ability to read and understand drawings, schedules and Activity Control Plans.
Ability to accurately take off and schedule material quantities.

Responsibilities

Health, Safety & Environment focus: zero harm, safety inspections, permits to dig and Safe Systems of Work.
Engineering Control: setting out from primary control, provide setting out sketches, maintain survey equipment and read drawings with Navisworks.
Quality & Productivity: produce as-built drawings, handover docs, QA check sheets, daily diaries, track materials vs. plan, update progress.
Commercial: maintain daily diaries of resources, weekly measures, record additional works.
