Job summary

BAM UK & Ireland is seeking a Site Engineer to join the EGL2 project team in Peterhead, Scotland. You will oversee setting out, supervise assistants, and ensure drawings and specs support construction of a major HVDC transmission link.

Qualifications

• Must have Civil Engineering degree/HND or NVQ level.
• CSCS Level required for site access and supervision.
• SSSTS certification is mandatory.
• Desirable: progress toward ICE Technician or Incorporated grade or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Maintain high personal safety and environmental standards.
• Supervision of assistant engineers on site.
• Ensure drawings and specifications contain sufficient information for construction.
• Provide accurate and clear setting out for works.
• Communicate with foremen and gangers to ensure understanding of information.
• Arrange formal checking of setting out.
• Complete inspection and test plans.
• Keep an accurate daily site diary.
• Prepare 4 weekly programmes.
• Provide accurate measurements for materials required.
• Maintain material reconciliation figures for reporting.
• Ensure material delivery tickets are passed on for cost coding.
• Carry out testing/sampling of materials.
• Assist the measurement department.
• Maintain survey books.
• Take receipt of materials and perform checks.
