Job summary

Fawkes & Reece London are seeking an experienced Freelance Site Engineer to support the Sizewell C desalination package in Suffolk. The role concentrates on setting out, dimensional control and ensuring works are delivered to approved drawings and specifications, with rigorous quality checks.

You will operate in a large, highly regulated environment on a flagship infrastructure project, using Total Station, GPS/GNSS and other surveying tools.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as Site Engineer on major construction projects.
• Strong setting-out experience essential.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• UK nuclear security clearance is essential.
• Experience on regulated infrastructure projects is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Set out works accurately using surveying equipment.
• Provide day-to-day engineering support to Site Manager and teams.
• Check levels, coordinates, and dimensions.
• Interpret drawings and technical information.
• Undertake as-built surveys and maintain records.
• Establish site control points and benchmarks.
• Collaborate with subcontractors to ensure works meet specs.
• Perform quality checks and identify issues.
• Support health, safety, quality and environmental requirements.
