Job summary

Linear Recruitment Ltd in the United Kingdom is seeking a Site Engineer for a major city centre infrastructure project in Sheffield. The role focuses on setting out, survey control and quality assurance to ensure works meet drawings and specifications.

Qualifications include a Civil Engineering degree or HNC/HND, CSCS, and a Full UK driving licence. You will support site teams, supervise surveys, and drive best-practice in health & safety and QA on a high-profile project.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as Site Engineer on highways, public realm, infrastructure or heavy civil projects.
• HNC/HND or Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• Competent using surveying equipment (Total Station, GPS, EDM) for setting out and as-built surveys.
• Experience with highways improvements, drainage, earthworks, reinforced concrete, paving or urban infrastructure.
• Knowledge of QA processes, ITPs and engineering documentation.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills; ability to work with site teams and subcontractors.
• CSCS Card and Full UK Driving Licence.

Responsibilities

• Carry out site engineering duties including setting out, surveying and engineering control across multiple work areas.
• Provide accurate setting out information and technical support to site teams and subcontractors.
• Complete as-built surveys and maintain accurate records and drawings throughout the project.
• Ensure works are delivered in accordance with drawings, specifications and ITPs.
• Monitor quality standards and assist with inspections, testing and handover documentation.
• Support the delivery of temporary and permanent works while maintaining engineering accuracy.
• Promote health, safety, environmental and quality compliance on site.
• Minimise material waste and ensure equipment is maintained and used correctly.
• Assist in mentoring Graduate and Junior Engineers where appropriate.
• Identify opportunities to improve site processes, productivity and engineering best practice.
