Job summary

Murphy is recruiting for a Site Engineer to work on the Glaslyn project in Porthmadog as part of the Great Grid partnership. The role involves setting out, technical problem solving and ensuring QA, safety and environmental standards on site.

We value surveying experience, strong civil engineering fundamentals, and the ability to coordinate with the site team to deliver EPC projects in the energy sector. Flexible benefits apply.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Civil Engineering or similar
  • Experience in construction or civil projects
  • Experience in surveying and setting out techniques
  • Understanding of Quality, Safety, Health, Environmental and Sustainability requirements
  • Previous engineer role experience

Responsibilities

  • Accurate setting out of the works and dimensional control
  • Resolving technical problems at all levels
  • Carry out inspections in accordance with the Inspection and Test Plan
  • Produce survey information and red-lined drawings for As-built records
  • Ensure equipment is calibrated and in date
  • Ensure construction operations comply with contract requirements
  • Provide clear information to site personnel
  • Supervise environmental requirements on the project
  • Ensure materials on site are suitable and stored properly
  • Assist Site Management with KPI updates, material reconciliation and progress reports

A day in the life of a Murphy Site Engineer

  • Accurate setting out of the works and dimensional control.
  • Resolving technical problems at all levels.
  • Carry out inspections in accordance with the Inspection and Test Plan in a timely manner.
  • The production of survey information and red – lined drawings for the completion of the As-built records.
  • Ensure equipment is calibrated, in date and suitable checked in accordance with company policies and the manufacturers’ defined requirements.
  • Ensure construction operations are carried out in accordance with the Contract requirements using the appropriate procedures.
  • Ensure all site personnel have clear, accurate and appropriate information to carry out their duties.
  • Supervises the outputs and confirms that the project environmental requirements are met.
  • Ensure all materials on site are suitable, stored in line with manufacturer’s recommendations current working practice, contract specification or project requirements.
  • Assist the Site Management team to update KPI’s, material reconciliation and progress reports.

  • Previous experience within a Engineer role
  • Experience on Construction or Civil Engineering projects.
  • Experienced in surveying and setting out techniques
