Job summary

Murphy is recruiting for a Section Engineer to work with Energy on the Glaslyn project in Porthmadog, as part of the Great Grid partnership. The role sits within Murphy's in-house design, construction and commissioning capabilities for EPC projects in the energy sector.

We are looking for a degree-qualified Civil Engineer with prior Section or Site Engineer experience on construction or civil projects. You will conduct surveys and set-out, ensure QA/SHE compliance, and support the Site

Qualifications

• Degree-qualified Civil Engineering or similar.
• Previous experience within a Section or Site Engineer role.
• Experience on Construction or Civil Engineering projects.
• Experienced in surveying and setting out techniques.
• Sound understanding of Quality, Safety, Health, Environmental and Sustainability project requirements.

Responsibilities

• Resolve technical problems at all levels.
• Carry out inspections in accordance with the Inspection and Test Plan.
• Produce survey information and red-lined As-built drawings.
• Ensure equipment is calibrated and in date per policy.
• Ensure construction operations comply with contract requirements.
• Ensure site personnel have clear, accurate information.
• Supervise outputs and confirm environmental requirements are met.
• Ensure materials on site are suitable and stored correctly.
• Assist Site Management with KPI updates and progress reports.

A day in the life of a Murphy Section Engineer:

• Resolving technical problems at all levels.
• Carry out inspections in accordance with the Inspection and Test Plan in a timely manner.
• The production of survey information and red – lined drawings for the completion of the As-built records.
• Ensure equipment is calibrated, in date and suitable checked in accordance with company policies and the manufacturers’ defined requirements.
• Ensure construction operations are carried out in accordance with the Contract requirements using the appropriate procedures.
• Ensure all site personnel have clear, accurate and appropriate information to carry out their duties.
• Supervises the outputs and confirms that the project environmental requirements are met.
• Ensure all materials on site are suitable, stored in line with manufacturer’s recommendations current working practice, contract specification or project requirements.
• Assist the Site Management team to update KPI’s, material reconciliation and progress reports.
